The privately-owned Rothschild Zionist Squire, Sanders & Dempsey said ‘no’ and so Timothy Geithner (Rothschild Zionist) said the money could not be used to protect the public who had bailed out the banks from foreclosure by those same banks.
These include Goldman Sachs headed by Lloyd Blankfein (Rothschild Zionist) and created by Rothschild Zionists Marcus Goldman and Samuel Sachs who came, like so many of these people, from families that settled in America from the country where the name Rothschild originated – Germany.
As I write, the Rothschild Zionist-owned New York Times and Washington Post have been urging people to reject the left and the right and support ‘centrist’ politicians – the alleged ‘centrists’ and ‘moderates’ are often the most extreme of them all and need their ‘centre’ image to hide that. Barack Obama made claims to be a ‘centrist’ and so did Tony Blair.
New York Times columnist Thomas L. Friedman (Rothschild Zionist) endorsed two attempts he said were underway to create a new ‘centre party’ in the United States and the Washington Post reported that a new grouping, known as ‘No Labels’, had been formed to occupy the ‘centre ground’ of American politics (they did the same in Britain with the creation of the Liberal Democrats who are now in an extremist coalition government with the ‘right-wing’ Conservative Party).
It turns out that a major funder of ‘No Labels’ is the Rothschild Zionist billionaire, James Tisch, the founding chairman of the Jewish Leadership Forum, executive committee member of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and a president of the Jewish Communal Fund.
He is also a director of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, headed until 2008 by Obama’s Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner (Rothschild Zionist). Yes, how very ‘moderate’ and ‘centrist’ you must be, Mr. Tisch.
The Tisch family, one of the wealthiest in America, took control of the CBS empire in 1986 with the intention, they said, to promote the interests of Israel.
Two founders of No Labels, the Washington Post revealed, were David Frum (Rothschild Zionist), the ‘Axis of Evil’ speechwriter for Boy George Bush, and William Galston, a former advisor to Bill Clinton, who is close to the Rothschild Zionist Zilkha family, founders of Mothercare. Galston holds the Ezra Zilkha Chair in Governance Studies at the Rothschild Zionist ‘think tank’, the Brookings Institution.
No Labels is also supported by one of its ‘Citizen Leaders’, Kenneth R. Weinstein, CEO of the Rothschild Zionist ‘think-tank’, the Hudson Institute, founded by Herman Kahn (Rothschild Zionist), one of the inspirations for Stanley Kubrick’s character, Dr. Strangelove. The Hudson Institute and the Brookings Institution are major strands in the Rothschild ‘think tank’ network worldwide.

No Labels is just another Rothschild Zionist extremist organisation masquerading as the moderate, ‘sensible’ centre – the wolf in sheep’s clothing technique that the Rothschilds employ to great effect.
In Britain and so many other countries around the world we have the same tail wagging the dog. The British version of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is the Friends of Israel network in every major party.
One investigation discovered that 80-per-cent of Members of Parliament in the now ruling Conservative Party are members of the Friends of Israel – which has the stated goal of supporting anything that is good for Israel (the Rothschilds who own Israel).
The British Prime Minister, David Cameron, is a Rothschild Zionist and so is the leader of the Labour ‘opposition’, Ed Milliband, who got the job after a campaign in which his brother, David Miliband (Rothschild Zionist), was the other major candidate. This in a country where the Jewish population (with many not Rothschild Zionists) is around 280,000 in a national population of 62 million.
The key manipulating force in the previous UK governments of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown was Peter Mandelson (Rothschild Zionist), who flaunts his close connections to the Rothschilds with holidays at their mansion on the Greek island of Corfu.
The Rothschilds controlled Blair as they controlled Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and this was the connection that led to Blair going into wars in support of both presidents who were being urged on by Israel (the Rothschilds).
It was the Rothschild network that orchestrated the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, the War of Terror and its justification, the false-flag terrorism of September 11th.
The lease of the twin towers at the World Trade Center was bought just weeks before September 11th by businessmen, Larry Silverstein (Rothschild Zionist) and Frank Lowy (Rothschild Zionist), who both have very close links to Israeli leaders, including current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who said that what happened on 9/11 was ‘good for Israel’.
The World Trade Center deal was struck with Lewis Eisenberg (Rothschild Zionist), the head of the New York Port Authority, vice president of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and a former partner at the Rothschild-controlled Goldman Sachs. Eisenberg is also close to the Israel leadership.
The man who lobbied heavily for the New York Port Authority to sell the lease into private hands was Ronald S. Lauder (Rothschild Zionist) from the Estée Lauder cosmetics family.
He is involved with a stream of Rothschild Zionist organisations, including the Jewish National Fund, World Jewish Congress, American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and the Anti-Defamation League.
Buying the World Trade Center lease was a terrible business deal for Silverstein and Lowy because the towers were known as the ‘white elephants’ given the state they were in and the fantastic amount of asbestos that needed to be dealt with. Asked why he had bought the lease Silverstein said: ‘I felt a compelling urge to own them’.
I bet he did.
When the deal was done Silverstein and co massively increased the insurance for a ‘terrorist attack’ and were awarded $4.55 billion after the towers were hit. The lease had cost $3.2 billion and Silverstein reportedly only invested $14 million of his own money.
The judge who oversaw the litigation between Silverstein and the insurance companies was Michael B. Mukasey (Rothschild Zionist) who later became US Attorney General.
The Pentagon at the time of 9/11 was controlled by people like Paul Wolfowitz (Rothschild Zionist), the Deputy Defence Secretary who went on to head the World Bank; and Dov Zakheim (Rothschild Zionist), a dual Israeli/American citizen and the Pentagon Comptroller who managed to ‘lose’ trillions from the Pentagon budget – a fact that was announced onSeptember 10th, 2001.
Anyone wonder why this announcement was not widely reported? Did something happen the next day then? It had to be a coincidence, surely, they couldn’t have known what was coming, could they??
The Bush administration was famously controlled at the time of the September 11th attacks by the so-called ‘neocons’ or neoconservatives. The neocon leadership wrote to Bill Clinton urging him to attack Iraq before 9/11 and they then went into overdrive to advocate the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan after the World Trade Center attacks under Bush.
Interestingly, these same Rothschild Zionists, along with puppet Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Vice-President Dick Cheney, both vehement supporters of Israel, launched a ‘think tank’ before Bush came to office called the Project for the New American Century (PNAC)
In September 2000, this organisation published a document called Rebuilding America’s Defenses: Strategies, Forces, and Resources For a New Century in which they called for American forces to ‘fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theater wars’ with emphasis on places like Iraq, Iran and North Korea.
But the document said that this ‘… process of transformation … is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor’ to justify it to the people.
One year to the month after that document was published and nine months after most of these Rothschild Zionists came to power in the Bush administration, America did indeed have ‘a new Pearl Harbor’ which was then used to justify the agenda laid out in the document.
Coincidence? Of course not.
The Bush State of the Union address in 2002 which called Iraq, Iran and North Korea the ‘axis of evil’ was written by the neocon, David Frum (Rothschild Zionist), now supporting the Rothschild Zionist front, No Labels, and was straight from the pages of the Project for the New American Century document.
The official 9/11 Commission ‘investigation’ into what happened that day was only forced upon Bush and Cheney kicking and screaming and the man they first appointed to head the Commission was Henry Kissinger (Rothschild Zionist).
This was so ludicrous and incredible that he resigned, citing ‘conflicts of interest’, which had never stopped him before.
But the ‘investigation’ and the final report was still overseen by Phillip Zelikow (Rothschild Zionist) and it decided that the official story was basically true after failing to interview or quote key witnesses that gave another version of events.
The federal judge assigned to deal with all wrongful death and personal injury cases filed by the families of those who died on September 11th was Alvin K. Hellerstein (Rothschild Zionist) who has major family ties to Israel.
Attorney Kenneth Feinberg (Rothschild Zionist) oversaw the 9/11 victim’s compensation fund and 97 per cent of the families were persuaded to take the money in exchange for not pressing for an independent investigation of the September 11th atrocities.
Those that did demand an investigation or rejected the limitations of the compensation fund were dealt with through a ‘special mediator’, Sheila Birnbaum (Rothschild Zionist).
Feinberg (Rothschild Zionist) went on to become the ‘Special Master’ for TARP Executive Compensation related to the bank bail outs, and is currently the government-appointed administrator of the compensation fund for victims of the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Forward, a Jewish newspaper, said the FBI found that at least two of the five arrested Israelis were Mossad agents and that Urban Moving Systems was a Mossad front operation.
The five were held for 71 days, but then released without charge and allowed to return to Israel where three of them appeared on television to say that ‘our purpose was to document the event’.
Yes, an event they knew was going to happen.
Dr. Alan Sabrosky, former director of studies at the US Army War College, has said publicly says that US military leaders now know that Israel ‘and those traitors within our nation’ were responsible for the 9/11 attacks (see his interview after this article).
But not quite so amazing if you have read this far and seen the extent to which the Rothschild Zionist secret society networks control and manipulate world events.
I emphasise again that we are not talking here about ‘the Jews’ owning the media, Hollywood, politics, banking and big business, but a tiny clique answering ultimately to the secret society that I call Rothschild Zionism.

The man appointed to oversee the war in Afghanistan and the targeting of Pakistan was Richard Holbrooke (Rothschild Zionist), Obama’s ‘Special Representative’ for Afghanistan and Pakistan who died in December 2010.

This largesse is especially striking when one realizes that Israel is now a wealthy industrial state with a per capita income roughly equal to South Korea or Spain.’
The US House of Representatives recently approved another $205 million in military aid for Israel for an ‘anti-missile’ system. ‘When it comes to defense, military, and intelligence cooperation, the relationship between the US and Israel has never been stronger’, said Democrat Representative Steve Rothman (Rothschild Zionist), a member of the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee.
As he spoke, the Israeli authorities were using their American-supplied military might to continue the blockade of the Gaza Strip which has been stopping supplies of food, fuel and basic needs for 1.5 million Palestinians since 2007.
I have set out here to reveal the true face of Zionism – the House of Rothschild and its networks – and how its agents in Big Government, Big Banking, Big Business, Big Pharma, Big Biotech, Big Media and so on, are working as one unit to impose a global Orwellian dictatorship on the human population – including the mass of Jewish people.

So when these people come to power, they carry the Rothschild genetics and answer to their control system, but they are not officially called ‘Rothschild’, and in this way the scale of the Rothschild infiltration of government, finance and so on remains hidden behind an army of offspring known by different names.
It is time to put the Rothschilds on public display because that’s the last place they want to be. They have operated from the shadows for long enough and we must urgently ensure that those days are over.

As I point out in my new book, A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, there are several methods for controlling a population. You can intimidate the citizenry into obedience through force, relying on military strength and weaponry such as SWAT team raids, militarized police, and a vast array of lethal and nonlethal weapons. You can manipulate them into marching in lockstep with your dictates through the use of propaganda and carefully timed fear tactics about threats to their safety, whether through the phantom menace of terrorist attacks or shooting sprees by solitary gunmen. Or you can indoctrinate them into compliance from an early age through the schools, discouraging them from thinking for themselves while rewarding them for regurgitating whatever the government, through its so-called educational standards, dictates they should be taught.
Those who founded America believed that an educated citizenry knowledgeable about their rights was the surest means of preserving freedom. If so, then the inverse should also hold true: that the surest way for a government to maintain its power and keep the citizenry in line is by rendering them ignorant of their rights and unable to think for themselves.
When viewed in light of the government’s ongoing attempts to amass power at great cost to Americans—in terms of free speech rights, privacy, due process, etc.—the debate over Common Core State Standards, which would transform and nationalize school curriculum from kindergarten through 12th grade, becomes that much more critical.
Essentially, these standards, which were developed through a partnership between big government and corporations, in the absence of any real input from parents or educators with practical, hands-on classroom experience, and are being rolled out in 45 states and the District of Columbia, will create a generation of test-takers capable of little else, molded and shaped by the federal government and its corporate allies into what it considers to be ideal citizens.
Moreover, as Valerie Strauss reports for the Washington Post: “The costs of the tests, which have multiple pieces throughout the year plus the computer platforms needed to administer and score them, will be enormous and will come at the expense of more important things. The plunging scores will be used as an excuse to close more public schools and open more privatized charters and voucher schools, especially in poor communities of color. If, as proposed, the Common Core’s ‘college and career ready’ performance level becomes the standard for high school graduation, it will push more kids out of high school than it will prepare for college.”
With so much money to be made and so many questionable agendas at work, it is little wonder, then, that attempts are being made to squelch any and all opposition to these standards. For example, at a recent public forum to discuss the implementation of these standards in Baltimore County public schools, one parent, 46-year-old Robert Small, found himself “pulled out of the meeting, arrested and charged with second-degree assault of a police officer” simply for daring to voice his discontent with the standards during a Q&A session with the superintendent.
“Don’t stand for this. You are sitting here like cattle,” shouted Robert Small to his fellow attendees as he was being dragged out of the “forum” on the Common Core standards. “Is this America?”
No, Mr. Small, this is no longer America. This is, instead, fascism with a smile, sold to us by our so-called representatives, calculating corporations, and an educational system that is marching in lockstep with the government’s agenda.
In this way, we are being conditioned to be slaves without knowing it. That way, we are easier to control. “A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude,” writes Aldous Huxley.
The original purpose of a pre-university education in early America was not to prepare young people to be doctors or lawyers but, as Thomas Jefferson believed, to make citizens knowledgeable about “their rights, interests, and duties as men and citizens.”
Yet that’s where the problem arises for us today. Most citizens have little, if any, knowledge about their basic rights, largely due to an educational system that does a poor job of teaching the basic freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Many studies confirm this. For instance, when Newsweek asked 1,000 adult U.S. citizens to take America’s official citizenship test, 29% of respondents couldn’t name the current vice president of the United States. Seventy-three percent couldn’t correctly say why America fought the Cold War. More critically, 44% were unable to define the Bill of Rights.
That Americans are constitutionally illiterate is not a mere oversight on the part of government educators. And things will only get worse under Common Core, which as the Washington Post reports, is a not-so-subtle attempt “to circumvent federal restrictions on the adoption of a national curriculum.”
Putting aside the profit-driven motives of the corporations and the power-driven motives of the government, there is also an inherent arrogance in the implementation of these Common Core standards that speaks to the government’s view that parents essentially forfeit their rights when they send their children to a public school, and should have little to no say in what their kids are taught and how they are treated by school officials. This is evident in the transformation of the schools into quasi-prisons, complete with metal detectors, drug-sniffing dogs, and surveillance cameras. The result is a generation of young people browbeaten into believing that they have no true rights, while government authorities have total power and can violate constitutional rights whenever they see fit.
Yet as Richard Dreyfuss, Oscar-winning actor and civics education activist, warns: “Unless we teach the ideas that make America a miracle of government, it will go away in your kids’ lifetimes, and we will be a fable.”

Obama hides aid for criminals in immigration bill

The White House is trying to hide unpopular provisions in the Senate’s immigration bill that would allow immigrant criminals to stay in the country and would increase the inflow of low-skill refugees from war-torn countries, says a top White House official.
“The bill has a number of other important provisions that have stayed under the radar, and we’d actually like to keep them under the radar,” said Esther Olavarria, the White House’s director of immigration reform.
“We haven’t played [them] up because we want to be able to maintain them as we go through the legislative process,” she told about 50 attendees at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s annual conference, on Sept. 19.
At the CBC foundation event, Olavarria described the sections in the Senate bill that she’s trying to hide from the public and the GOP.
The first section reverses parts of the 1996 immigration reform, which allowed law-enforcement authorities to deport long-term residents who have committed crimes.
The Senate bill “redefines ‘convictions,’ it redefines ‘sentences,’ to make it more realistic, so individuals who get suspended sentences would not be found inadmissible or deportable under these new provisions,” she told the attendees.
The liberal pre-1996 rule “was a very good provision,” and its revival in the Senate bill will “allow long-time residents who committed minor crimes to be able to stay here,” she said.
By accepting criminals and increasing the inflow of poor refugees, “they’re putting non-citizens in a higher position than native Americans,” said D.A. King, who runs the Dustin Inman Society, which seeks to reduce the annual inflow of legal immigrants.
“When you have over 22 million Americans that are out of work or underemployed, we have to have to an immigration system that puts these American citizens back to work,” King said.
Polls from rival groups indicate that majorities of Americans oppose the increases in immigration demanded by Democrats and by many businesses who eager for cheaper workers and extra customers.
Olavarria also suggested that the GOP leadership in the House, led by House Speaker John Boehner, may help pass an bill to increase immigration, despite opposition from the base and the possibility that immigrants will eventually vote for Democratic politicians.
“The House is a very difficult place. … The [leadership is] not sure how they’re going to get to immigration reform,” she said when asked by The Daily Caller if the GOP leadership wants to pass an immigration rewrite.
“The speaker has difficulties with lots of things,” she said.
Last week, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, the Republican chairman of the House’s judiciary committee, revived progressives’ hopes that the GOP leadership is quietly looking for a way to pass an immigration bill. ”We have to find the appropriate legal status for people who are not lawfully here,” Goodlatte told an audience of Hispanic politicians and activists attending an event planned by the House Republican Conference.
If any bill is passed by the House, Boehner will be able to schedule a joint bill-writing conference with Democratic Senators. In turn, Boehner will be able to bring that joint bill to the House floor, where it would be approved by nearly all Democratic legislators and become law despite overwhelming disapproval from GOP legislators.
“If Speaker Boehner were to bring the [Senate] bill to the floor … we would have the votes to pass it, but he has not found a way yet do this,” said Olavarria, who played the leading role in drafted a 2007 immigration-boosting bill for Sen. Ted Kennedy.
“So it is important that we continue to work together … to bring it to the floor,” she said.
The number of minor or major crimes committed by illegal immigrants, and the number of American victims is high but uncertain, partly because the federal and state governments do not keep close track. The number of illegals who would be shielded from deportation, or be allowed to become citizens because of the rule-change, is also unclear.
Some courts have been very solicitous of criminal immigrants. In January, the federal 9th circuit blocked the deportation of an kidnapper who is an illegal immigrant.
The Senate bill also includes a section that offers a “path to citizenship” to illegal immigrants convicted twice of drunk driving. Only drivers who have been caught drunk more than two times would be excluded, according to the bill. In a July debate, Democrats defeated a more stringent rule proposed by Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn.
Olavarria also said she wishes to hide sections in the bill that will boost immigration of refugees.
One of the secret bill changes, said Olavarria, “will allow more groups [of people] to be identified as refugees and come into the country under that program.”
The Senate bill also allows people who have been staying in the United States for more than a year to apply for a refugee visa, Olavarria said. The change is important because it would allow people who have been in the country illegally for more than a year to ask for a residency visa.
In the last 10 years, roughly 55,000 Africans have won refugees status, and that number will increase if the Senate bill passes, Olavarria told the CBCF audience.
Olavarria’s support for increased immigration reflects the progressives’ desire to diversify the country’s population so that voters can be manipulated via staged but damaging ethnic and racial conflicts, said King. ”They’re trying to erase the bigger picture [of a united America]. … They have a new idea where the country is no longer unified and is basically Balkanized,” he said.
The Senate bill was passed in July. If approved by the House, it could triple legal immigration to 33 million over the next 10 years, and double the resident population of non-agricultural guest-workers to 2 million, according to matching estimates from rival groups seeking to increase or reduce immigration. The bill would effectively approve the arrival of one new immigrant for every two Americans that turn 18.
“Comprehensive immigration reform, common sense immigration reform… is a top legislative priority for President [Barack] Obama, and he has worked very, very hard to get us where we are so far, and is not giving up,” Olavarria said.
“I know there’s lot of stories in the press … that declare immigration reform dead, [but] it is far from dead.”
“We don’t think it’s over,” she said.

On October 9th, 2011, California governor Brown signed AB 499 into law which provides that the Merck manufactured, Gardasil, designed to prevent cervical cancer, can be administered to children 12 years old and up without parental consent.
First of all, government should not be in the business of mandating personal choices and government should never be allowed to legislate choices which should be reserved for parents with regard to their children’s health and welfare.
Gardasil has resulted in needless tragedy for over 40,000 children who have been vaccinated by well intentioned doctors who are ignorant of the side effects.

LAHORE: The decade-long American wars in Afghanistan and Iraq would end up costing as much as $6 trillion, the equivalent of $75,000 for every American household, calculates the prestigious Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
Remember, when President George Bush’s National Economic Council Director, Lawrence Lindsey, had told the country’s largest newspaper “The Wall Street Journal” that the war would cost between $100 billion and $200 billion, he had found himself under intense fire from his colleagues in the administration who claimed that this was a gross overestimation.
Consequently, Lawrence Lindsey was forced to resign.It is also imperative to recall that the Bush administration had claimed at the very outset that the Iraq war would finance itself out of Iraqi oil revenues, but Washington DC had instead ended up borrowing some $2 trillion to finance the two wars, the bulk of it from foreign lenders.
According to the Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government 2013 report, this accounted for roughly 20 per cent of the total amount added to the US national debt between 2001 and 2012.
According to the report, the US “has already paid $260 billion in interest on the war debt,” andfuture interest payments would amount to trillions of dollars.This Harvard University report has also been carried on its website by the Centre for Research on Globalisation, which is a widely-quoted Montreal-based independent research and media organisation.
In its report under review, the 377-year old Harvard University has viewed that these afore-mentioned wars had not only left the United States heavily indebted, but would also have a profound impact on the federal government’s fiscal and budgetary crises over a protracted period.
The report has attributed the largest share of the trillions of dollars in continuing costs to care and compensation for hundreds of thousands of troops left physically and psychologically damaged by the two wars being discussed here.
The report states: “The Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, taken together, will be the most expensive wars in US history—totaling somewhere between $4 trillion and $6 trillion. This includes long-term medical care and disability compensation for service members, veterans and families, military replenishment and social and economic costs. The largest portion of that bill is yet to be paid.”
It asserts: “Another major share of the long-term costs of the wars comes from paying off trillions of dollars in debt incurred as the US government failed to include their cost in annual budgets and simultaneously implemented sweeping tax cuts for the rich. In addition, huge expenditures are being made to replace military equipment used in the two wars. The report also cites improvements in military pay and benefits made in 2004 to counter declining recruitment rates as casualties rose in the Iraq war.”
The authors of this report have warned that the legacy of decisions taken during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars would dominate future federal budgets for decades to come.
According to the Harvard University report, some 1.56 million US troops—56 per cent of all Afghanistan and Iraq veterans—were receiving medical treatment at Veterans Administration facilities and would be granted benefits for the rest of their lives.
It reveals: “One out of every two veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan has already applied for permanent disability benefits. The official figure of 50,000 American troops “wounded in action” vastly underestimates the real human costs of the two US wars. One-third of returning veterans are being diagnosed with mental health issues—suffering from anxiety, depression, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).”
The report notes that in addition, over a quarter of a million troops have suffered traumatic brain injuries (TBI), which, in many cases, were combined with PTSD, posing greater problems in treatment and recovery.
“Constituting a particularly grim facet of this mental health crisis is the doubling of the suicide rate for US Army personnel, with many who attempted suicide suffering serious injuries,” opine the report authors.
It maintains: “Overall, the Veterans Administration’s budget has more than doubled over the past decade, from $61.4 billion in 2001 to $140.3 billion in 2013. As a share of the total US budget it has grown from 2.5 percent to 3.5 percent over the same period. Soaring medical costs for veterans is attributable to several factors. Among them is that, thanks to advancements in medical technology and rapid treatment, soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan have survived wounds that would have cost their lives in earlier conflicts.”
The Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government report has estimated: “While the US government has already spent $134 billion on medical care and disability benefits for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, this figure will climb by an additional $836 billion over the coming decades.”
It notes that the largest expenditures on health care for World War II veterans took place in the 1980s, roughly four decades after the war, and that spending on medical care and disability payments for Vietnam War veterans was still on the rise.
Here follows the description: “The most common medical problems suffered by troops returning from the two wars include: diseases of the musculoskeletal system (principally joint and back disorders); mental health disorders; central nervous system and endocrine system disorders; as well as respiratory, digestive, skin and hearing disorders. Overall, some 29 per cent of these troops have been diagnosed with PTSD.”
The report goes on to argue: “Among the most severely wounded are 6,476 soldiers and Marines who have suffered “severe penetrating brain injury,” and another 1,715 who have had one or more limbs amputated. Over 30,000 veterans are listed as suffering 100 percent service-related disabilities, while another 145,000 are listed as 70 to 90 percent disabled.”
It reads: “The worst of these casualties have taken place under the Obama administration as a result of the so-called surge that the Democratic president ordered in Afghanistan.”
It mentions that the Walter Reed Medical Centre, US Army’s flagship hospital at Washington DC, was treating hundreds of recent amputees and severe casualties, adding that this facility had received 100 amputees for treatment during 2010; 170 amputees in 2011; and 107 amputees in 2012.
The report has also stated that the US Marines have suffered an especially high toll.
The report points out: “Massive direct spending on the two imperialist interventions continues. With over 60,000 US troops remain in Afghanistan, it is estimated that the cost of deploying one American soldier for one year in this war amounts to $1 million. These troops continue suffering casualties—including in so-called “green on blue” attacks by Afghan security forces on their ostensible allies. As they are brought home, they will further drive up the costs of medical care and disability compensation. The US is maintaining a vast diplomatic presence in Iraq, including at least 10,000 private contractors providing support in security, IT, logistics, engineering and other occupations; as well as logistics support and payments for leased facilities in Kuwait.”
In its conclusion, the report not only seeks to dispel illusions that ending full-scale wars in Iraq and Afghanistan would produce any kind of “peace dividend” that could help ameliorate conditions of poverty, unemployment and declining living standards for working people in the US itself, but makes it clear that the legacy of decisions made during the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts would impose significant long-term costs on the federal government for many years to come.
