American Citizen Furkan Dogan Executed by Israel during Attack on Gaza Flotilla

Only a member of the Netanyahu Court could stand before the TV cameras of the world and see “hate and violence” in a shipment of wheelchairs, medical supplies and building materials destined for a people ravaged by the savagery of the 20008/2009 Christmas invasion of Gaza. This “Armada” of six boats, bloated into an invading force capable of destroying the British Navy, represents yet again the eternal threat that plagues the Zionist state, “the constant provocation” from the rest of the nations of the world to destroy the tiny democracy created for those who belong to their faith, victims once again.

So the predictable dynamics are unfolding. Anywhere the US does not have a veto, Israel is being condemned for its latest atrocities and for its illegal blockade on Gaza. Israel as usual has its puppets in the US Congress and the US mainstream media coming to its defense. And Israel has rejected demands from the UN, plus all of the major powers (except, of course, the US) to lift the blockade and stand aside.

But this crisis does not seem to be going away. An awful lot of people are still mad, and more are becoming enraged as the days pass. Fraudulent videos from Israel may be treated as fact in the US media, but as far as I can tell, nowhere else. Israel still depends on the US to stop anything tangible from happening to it. The US government still depends on its weight to make that happen.

It is unthinkable that Israel’s premeditated deadly assault on the humanitarian flotilla could have gone ahead without a nod from Washington. James Petras lambastes Barack Obama and the U.S. Government for their refusal to condemn Israel and their outrageous political cover-up of a deliberate criminal act. JamesFetzerNews — 04 June 2010 — An independent journalist who resides in New York, Jerry Mazza has been incensed by the arrogance of the Israeli assault on the humanitarian flotilla bringing food, clothing, medical supplies and construction materials to the besieged people of Gaza. Israel conducted a midnight raid on unarmed civilians aboard a ship that was flying the Turkish flag, which is an act of piracy or of war under international maritime law. The Israelis insist that they were acting in “self-defense” when they shot and killed ten civilians and wounded scores of others.

We were out of town Memorial Day weekend, visiting with my in-laws in their senior living residence in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It sits under a huge Mid Western sky that shone blue as an American eye. The sun reflected on the boundless spread of land that will soon bear its corn and bounty from the rich black earth of rural farms.

Killing in the Middle East by Israel has been real to me from days of my youth, growing up with Syrian-American kids at the Greek Orthodox church in Peoria, Ill. I understood more deeply when I later got to know Palestinians who were my fellow parishioners at the Antiochian church in Chicago. But never was the impact greater than when Israeli ships on Memorial Day killed peace activists bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza.
